NOW OPEN: Apply for a 2025-2026 cohort!
We are currently accepting applications for our 2025-2026 cohorts.
Congrats, Grads!
Hats off to all of the RTB graduates and the scholars who completed another year on their way to graduation!
From the Twin Cities to Southern California, single parents, their families, and the RTB Team celebrated the accomplishments and success of cohort members during the 2024-2025 academic year. For some, this was one semester closer to the endzone, while others hit the endzone and graduated with either their associate's or bachelor's degrees, celebrating a milestone not only for themselves but also for their families.
To our scholars: your success inspires and energizes us, and your children, who are walking alongside you every day. For that, we thank you.
NEW PROGRAM: Apply for our Little Scholars Enrichment Fund!
Our Little Scholars Enrichment Fund supports the extra-curricular pursuits of children of single parents, ensuring that these children have the same opportunities as their peers who do not experience the same economic and social disparities.
Raise The Barr named Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) Partner of the Year!
During the 2024-2025 academic year, we partnered with Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) for our stable housing cohort. In honor of our “collaboration, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to student success,” we have received LAMC’s 2025 Partnership Award.
“Because of this support, four of our LAMC students didn’t have to choose between keeping a roof over their heads and continuing their education,” shared CalWORKs/CARE Director Angela B. Aghajanian. “They were able to pursue their dreams without being burdened by the daily fear of instability — all thanks to Raise The Barr’s belief in them.”
B.O.S.S. (Becoming Our Stellar Selves) Networking Events
Each spring, we hold two B.O.S.S. (Becoming Our Stellar Selves) networking events, where single-parent students have the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, practice their elevator pitches, and connect with successful female leaders who have navigated parenting and professional life with intention and resilience. This year, both B.O.S.S. events were major successes!
If you’re interested in participating, please contact us.
RTB Featured in Raising Up Docuseries
Raising Up is a five-part docuseries highlighting key needs and experiences of student parents throughout the United States. The fourth episode, which addresses the cruciality of stable housing for parenting college students, spotlights our own cohort member Amonieka, as well our housing project, “The Huddle,” which is set to open this fall.
