Raise The Barr Welcomes David Croom as Board Chair

Raise The Barr is pleased to announce that David Croom officially assumed the role of Board Chair on April 1, 2026. Currently, David is Vice President, Global Philanthropy at JPMorganChase. His career and volunteer efforts are centered on being a postsecondary education advocate and serving on boards of organizations that address students' basic needs.

"David brings the kind of steady, values-driven leadership this moment calls for. We’ve seen firsthand how he leads with intention and follow-through. As we step into our 10th year, we’re excited for how his conviction will help us grow with purpose and expand access to higher education, stable housing, and career pathways, opening more doors to long-term economic mobility for single-parent families."  - Lori & Anthony Barr, Co-Founders

David has served on the Board with distinction, offering strategic guidance, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission. His transition into the role of Board Chair comes at a meaningful time, as Raise The Barr celebrates its 10-year anniversary and looks ahead to its next phase of growth and impact.

“My passion for student parents stems from my mother, who finished her college degrees when I was in elementary and middle school. I've been lucky to be part of Raise The Barr's board for the last six years and the organization has built a strong foundation over the past decade. As Board Chair, my focus is on helping scale what’s working, deepening partnerships, expanding access to critical supports, and ensuring more single-parent students have a clear path to economic mobility. The next chapter is about growth with intention and continued impact.”  - David Croom

Under David’s leadership, Raise The Barr will continue advancing its two-generation model—supporting both parents and their children—as it works to increase access to higher education, stable housing, and career pathways.

We are grateful for David’s leadership and look forward to the continued growth and impact ahead.
