Colby Owens

For the past 15 years, Colby has dedicated his life to uplifting and empowering underprivileged populations. His career began as a Program Director at the YMCA in Moorhead MN, where he first recognized his ability to make a positive impact on the lives of those often marginalized by society.

From there, he transitioned to a role as a transitional counselor at the West Central Regional Juvenile Center in Moorhead, MN. He provided guidance, support, and a sense of direction, helping them navigate the challenges they faced.

Colby then continued his work at a residential treatment facility and at a Crisis Center in Charlotte NC. His time in these roles allowed him to further refine his skills in managing and fostering growth within a team environment, while always keeping the well-being of the underprivileged population at the forefront.

In his most recent role as a Program Director for Communities in Schools, Colby has come full circle by leading initiatives that holistically address the needs of underrepresented families. Through comprehensive programs and partnerships, he strives to uplift communities and break down barriers that hinder progress.

Passion fuels every step of Colby’s journey, driving him to tirelessly work towards improving the lives of others. Not only is he committed to directly impacting underprivileged families, but he’s also dedicated to nurturing and developing other professionals. His career is a testament to his unyielding belief in the power of compassion, advocacy, and mentorship to transform lives and create a more equitable society.
